What motivated you to join Tshikovha Green and Climate Change Advocates? I aspire to make a meaningful impact in safeguarding the earth and reducing the effects of climate change. My goal is to secure a sustainable tomorrow for generations to come.

What are the key learning experiences you have had since joining Tshikovha Green and Climate Change Advocates?

• Project design (desktop study, field data collection, research, report writing)

How do you balance the theoretical knowledge from your studies with the practical demands of your job?

  • I relate academic theories to practical situations, making them more reelevate and useful
  • I engage with current research to ensure my knowledge stays current and applicable
  • I consult with experienced professionals at work and outside Tshikovha, ask for guidance and apply theoretical concepts in real world contexts
  • Seek mentorship form senior interns

Have you encountered any unexpected challenges in your role? How did you address them? Yes, I have encountered unexpected challenges in my role such as limited information from the client, regarding the proposed project.

What are your long-term career goals, and how does your position here align with those ambitions?

My long-term goals include:

  • Developing and implementing effective climate climate policies
  • Contribute to the global efforts to address climate change and promote sustainable development

This current position is an important stepping stone towards achieving my long-term career goals, providing valuable experience, skills and networks to drive my future success.

How do you stay updated with the latest developments in environmental policy and climate change advocacy? By regularly reading United Nations reports on climate change and sustainable development IPCC reports and UN Global sustainable Development Report.
